域名投资人 Thomas Weinstein 爆料，他持有的创意域名 ON.LY 曾经收到100万美金付款，看清楚了，不是报价，是付款....

那是2022年的二月，Thomas Weinstein经过一个半月的谈判，和onlyfans创始人谈妥，双方同意在escrow.com交易....

一开始交易进行得很顺利，买家也付款了，很快进入域名转移环节，但是就在付款后不到12个小时，买家忽然反悔，说要违约，不要这个域名了，违约的理由如下:

“Unfortunately I am unable to transfer this .ly domain to my account at Godaddy or any other standard registrar.

Then it was:
We are unable to create an account with the Libyan registrar for .ly domains due to sanctions and other concerns.

The seller did not communicate to us that working with Libya would be necessary to facilitate this transaction.”

Then it was:
Unfortunately, we have to cancel due to our compliance requirements and not dealing with Libya."

Escrow .com 被迫取消交易，最后告知卖家如下信息 :

“The Buyer had been in contact and advised he does not feel comfortable owning a .ly domain due to the instability in the country.

The Libyan domain registry has terms and conditions for using “.ly” domains. Basically, the terms say you cannot use the domains for pornography, gambling, or hate-speech-related content. After this experience, I wrote a report that explains the rules and the history of “.ly” domains, just in case I run into this question with future partners/investors/buyers.
